Women on Cyber is a non-profit group. Its mission is to empower women and girls by providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed in the technology field, specifically in cybersecurity. The organization offers free or low-cost training, mentorship, and events to help women and girls get started in tech careers.
The organization was founded in 201
by Dr Magda Lilia Chelly who is passionate about increasing diversity in the tech industry.
Cybersecurity is one of the most in-demand and well-paid careers in the tech industry, but women are still vastly underrepresented in the field. Women on Cyber aims to close the gender gap in cybersecurity by encouraging more women and girls to pursue careers in the field.
The group's vision is to create a more inclusive and diverse cybersecurity industry that is better equipped to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
By providing women and girls with the training, mentorship, and resources they need to succeed, Women on Cyber hopes to create a more equal and inclusive industry for all.
Dr Chelly is originally from Poland, and Tunisia but has lived in Singapore since 2015. She has a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
If you're a woman or girl interested in getting into cybersecurity, Women on Cyber can help you get started.
